specification Checklist

Here are the specifications we will need from you before we start building your banjo.
These need to be finalized only about two weeks before we start building; you can place an order without having final specs.

                • Rim Size
                    • 10, 11, 12 or 13" inch
                • Woods: Main wood, Trim wood
                    • Most common main woods: Mahogany, Cherry, Maple, Black Walnut
                    • Most common trim woods: Ebony, Chechen, Cocobolo, Black Walnut, etc.
                    • Please call for other options & current market values
                • Tonering
                    • Honduran rosewood integral, Romero, Whyte Ladie, Tubaphone, Flathead, etc. Tone ring details.
                • Scale Length
                    • We generally determine the best scale length by the rim size, but if you have a specific scale length in mind let us know
                • Peghead Shape
                • Scoop
                • Heel
                • Hardware: L-shoes, Tailpiece, Finishes (Plating, Ageing)
                • Inlay
                    • Most designs on the site are available. Individual designs are welcome, whether you already have a specific image or just a concept. Inlay examples.
                • Head Type
                    • Calfskin, Goatskin, Renaissance, Fyberskin, Frosted white
                • Set-up
                    • Your playing style, action preference, etc. will determine the ideal set-up for you.
